Some Thoughts

Computers orchestrating multiple vehicles

To help understand where the technology currently is, imagine hundreds of drones orchestrated in a light show. Here is an example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44KvHwRHb3A

Vehicles traveling in a managed chain

So now imagine a chain of vehicles working in unison with computers providing intelligence about the right of way conditions. The right of way management system will provide instant instructions for the chain to slow down if necessary and each vehicle in the chain will react instantly as if it was a single vehicle.

This will allow vehicles to reduce separation and benefit from drafting. It’s a win win win. Greater speed, improved efficiency, and more effective use of infrastructure. These savings can be used to pay for the infrastructure enhancement necessary to implement the system.

Wind isn’t the answer

see “Do the Math”. We can’t install enough and there are other issues.
